Hot Tub Removal in The Villages

Retired couple in The Villages had a hot tub on their screened lanai that hadn’t worked in three years. Thing weighed close to 500 pounds empty and there was no way to get it out without going through the house — the screen enclosure didn’t have a panel big enough.
We cut the shell into sections with a reciprocating saw right there on the lanai. Took apart the pump and motor housing separately. Carried everything out through the sliding door and hallway in manageable pieces. Laid down moving blankets on the tile so we wouldn’t scratch anything. Hot tubs are one of those bulky items people put off hauling because they assume it’s going to be a production.
Whole job took about an hour and forty-five minutes from start to cleanup. Swept the lanai, loaded the truck, and headed out. Homeowner said she’d been putting it off for a year because she thought it would be a bigger deal than it was.
That’s usually how it goes. People think it’s a nightmare but once you start cutting, it comes apart fast. She also mentioned the lanai had some old patio furniture and boxes of pool supplies she wanted gone — so we grabbed those too while we were there. Basically turned into a mini lanai cleanout on top of the hot tub job.
